Drs. Joel M. Hallam and Terrell Martin joined the Obstetrics and Gynecology practice of Lakewood Ranch Medical Group.

Hallam is a certified obstetrician and gynecologist who treats women from puberty through menopause and beyond.

Her high-risk expertise includes robotics, advanced laparoscopic surgery, minimally invasive surgery, management of high-risk pregnancies, management of routine pregnancies and gynecological problems, and early management of infertility.

Hallam attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Georgia Campus Medical School and did his residency at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.

Dr. Martin provides care to women at all stages of life, with special interests in high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

He attended the University of Florida medical school and completed his residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis.

David W. Dexter, MD, a certified general surgeon, joined the Lakewood Ranch Medical Group.

Dexter performs all aspects of general surgery, but has special skills in minimally invasive robotic surgery and daVinci. He will see short-term elective general surgery patients at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and his Lakewood Ranch office.

He comes to our area after serving as a trauma specialist and general surgeon in Erie, PA for 20 years.

Dexter received his medical degree from State University of New York Upstate Medical University College of Medicine, Syracuse. He completed his General Surgery Residency at Wright State University and the USAF Wright-Patterson Integrated Surgery Residency in Dayton, Ohio.

He also served on active duty as a general surgeon at the Wright-Patterson US Air Force Medical Center.

Dexter is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Audrey davis, MD, is the recently appointed medical director of neonatal care at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Women’s Center. She has over 20 years of experience in neonatal and perinatal medicine.

The hospital nursery has a 24/7 neonatologist. LWRMC is the first hospital in the community to offer a conception birth program to help new parents create the birth plan of their choice.

Crystal Sargent, the director of Invested Advisors Inc., a California-based business consulting firm, has established a residence in Sarasota. The move provides a regional presence to better support Gulf Coast customers.

Quartermaine

Sarasota County Judge Erika Nikla Quartermaine joined the Board of Directors of Second Heart Home Inc.

Quartermaine, a Sarasota native who helped create local court programs aimed at reducing homelessness, will serve on a board of directors that includes David Welle, the president, Kurt Bonner, Jim Doyle and Leslie Travis.

Second Heart Homes Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that helps homeless adults with mental illness find housing and become independent in Sarasota. Second Heart Homes offers permanent and halfway homes, daily support services and skill-building workshops tailored to individual client needs.

Quartermaine is a judge at the 12th Judicial Circuit Court.
