Princess Beatrice’s baby name to be taken from the ‘little’ royal pool must comply | Royal | New

Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will welcome their own royal baby in fall 2021, months after Princess Eugenie’s sister also had her first child. The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, confirmed the news of her pregnancy on May 19 to the delight of the Royal Family and the Queen. Royal experts have noted that Beatrice will have to follow strict rules when it comes to choosing the name of the royal baby due to a long-established royal custom.

Royal commentator Omid Scobie said: “It’s hard to be original.

“It’s hard to name the child you maybe secretly want.”

Kaye Adams noted that the tradition of choosing royal names in a small pool remains visible in the choices Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge have made for their three children.

Ms Adam said: “William will be king, and we will have Queen Kate. Their children are presented in a very traditional way, they are always dressed in a very traditional way.

“They have Charlotte, George and Louis, which are very royal names.”

Commentator Victoria Howard noted that Beatrice might have a little more freedom to choose her baby’s name compared to her older cousin, William, as she is lower in the line of succession.

Ms Howard said: “The closer you are to the throne, the more traditional the baby’s name should be.

“But as you move away from different generations and different cousins, you may be a little more to the left.”

And royal commentator Angela Mollard has suggested the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may choose to honor another princess by naming their daughter.

Ms Mollard told Sunrise: “I say it will be a grace.

“I have a feeling maybe Grace – I love Princess Grace, it’s an American thing. Grace works with Archie – so this is my candidacy.”

Ladbrokes also saw an increase in support for Philippa, in honor of the late Duke of Edinburgh, as well as Allegra and Alexandria.
